SAHO 13: MURCHISON FALLS , KIBALE FOREST, QUEEN ELIZABETH, BWINDI AND LAKE BUNYONI (8 Days / 7 Nights)

DAY 1: Leave Kampala some time after 6.00am and drive through the famous Luwero triangle, with a stop at Ziwa Ranchers for Rhino viewing. This Sanctuary is in Nakasongola district between Luwero and Masindi towns. Lunch at Masindi town. Drive to the park passing through the Budongo forest on the western arm of the park which has a variety of primates and one can be rewarded by a variety

of them along the road especially the Baboons. Or drive through the scenic Hoima from Kampala, a stopover at Masindi town for a break and thereafter proceed to and through it to the Lodging facility of your choice for check in and lunch. An evening game drive (the weather permitting) after checking in at the Lodge to wrap up the day is a rewarded experience of sighting Lions, Giraffes, Leopards, Elephants, Buffalos as they search for prey or feed on the grasses, a variety of different bird species like the along the shores of L.Kyoga like the Crested Crane, before you retire to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Nile Safari Camp.

DAY 2: After an early cup of coffee transverse in the northern part of the park for a morning game drive. View more of the wild animals and try to make out the different bird species with the help of the guide. After lunch, proceed for a two-hour launch trip up to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls where appalling water escapes from the narrow gorge, an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the river banks. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: Depart Murchison Falls National Park for Kibale Forest through the rural, rolling countryside of the Toro Kingdom. This area, nestled in the Rwenzori Mountains and is the seat of the Kingdom. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Primate Lodge / Chimpanzee Guest House or Similar.

DAY 4: Early morning forest walk in search of chimpanzee. See other primates, forest birds and butterflies. Arrive at Mweya Safari Lodge in QENP after lunch. Relax on a cruise up the Kazinga Channel between Lakes Edward and George. Enjoy seeing wild animals on the banks and a wonderful variety of water birds. Lion, hippo, Cape buffalo, Uganda kob and warthogs are usually seen. Overnight at the beautifully located Mweya Safari Lodge / Jacana Safari Lodge / Hippo Hill Camp or Similar.

DAY 5: Awake early for a sun rise game drive to see elephant and lion. After breakfast depart for a gorilla sanctuary. Packed lunch enroute. Transit through the Kigezi Highlands with terraced banana plantations on the steep slopes. Dinner and overnight at Engagi Lodge / Buhoma Lodge Gorilla Resort / Gorilla Forest Camp or Similar.

DAY 6: Rise early for gorilla trekking. The experienced ranger guides will brief you before the trek. Spend the day moving through dense forest in an exciting search for rare majestic mountain gorillas. Return to Engagi Lodge / Buhoma Lodge / Gorilla Resort / Gorilla Forest Camp or Similar.

DAY 7: After breakfast, leave the ever green Bwindi Forest for Lake Bunyonyi, ‘the lake of little birds’, renowned for its variety and abundance of avian. Enjoy a canoe ride on this beautiful narrow lake surrounded by green hills. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Safari Resort / Bunyonyi Overland Resort or Similar.

DAY 8: After breakfast depart the Lake for Kampala. Arrive early evening.
