The sanctuary is breeding a new rhino population after they became extinct in the early 1980’s). Go for a game drive with a guide to track the critically endangered rhinoceros in pristine bush country. The 70 km. square sanctuary, of wooded grassland and open wetland, is also home for many bird species including crowned hornbills, grey hornbills and more!
Proceed to Murchison Falls National park via Budongo forest and cross to the Northern bank. Take a short game drive close to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
DAY 2: After breakfast, embark on an early morning game drive on The northern bank where a trained ranger guide will help you spot elephants, lions, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks, bohor reed bucks, hyenas, and on rare cases leopards. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Relax at the swimming pool side. Have lunch and after, you will safari up stream By boat to the calm Victoria Nile and the base of the falls just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron.” Here you can have a look at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over the 17-kilometer stretch you may also see waterbucks, elephants, and Uganda kobs.
This place is also the habitat of many bird species including goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelican bee-eaters, Hombills, kingfishers, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork. After taking shots of the photogenic Murchison Falls, you will return for dinner and an overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
DAY 3: Get up early for breakfast and cross to the southern bank of the Nile for a game drive using the Honey Moon Track. Buffalos, Kobs, birdlife, elephants, birdlife, etc can be spotted. Next drive to the top of the spectacular falls where the Nile’s perfected beauty can be viewed easily, and marvel as it compresses and squeezes itself from over 1 kilometer wide down through a 7-meter canyon. The 150-meter drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray – the best thing to ever happen to the Nile. Depart the famous Murchison Falls National Park for Kampala and arrive early evening. End of service.
